4-Day Intensive Hysteroscopy Training Program
Hands-On Training in Diagnostic & Operative Hysteroscopy
The 4-Day Intensive Hysteroscopy Training Program at Indus Surgical Training Institute is designed for gynecologists seeking focused and practical training in modern diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy.
The program combines structured academic teaching, simulator-based practice, Hands-On Clinical Exposure with Real Patients, and live operating theatre exposure. The training focuses on developing a strong understanding of safe hysteroscopic techniques, instrumentation, distension systems, energy sources, fluid management, and prevention of potential complications.
Through a combination of theoretical learning, simulation, and supervised clinical exposure, participants gain practical familiarity with diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy and the principles involved in performing these procedures safely and effectively.
What the Program Covers
- Diagnostic hysteroscopy and systematic uterine cavity assessment
- Hysteroscopic instrumentation, optics and operative equipment
- Distension media and fluid management systems
- Monopolar and bipolar energy systems
- Resectoscope handling and operative hysteroscopy
- Hysteroscopic polypectomy
- Hysteroscopic myomectomy for submucosal fibroids
- Hysteroscopic septum resection / septoplasty
- Transcervical resection of endometrium (TCRE)
- Hysteroscopic adhesiolysis
- Role of hysteroscopy in infertility and abnormal uterine bleeding
- Prevention, recognition and management of hysteroscopic complications
4-Day Training Structure
Day 1 - Fundamentals & Diagnostic Hysteroscopy
Focused academic sessions covering uterine anatomy, indications, instrumentation, distension media, fluid management, and energy sources. The sessions are followed by hands-on simulator training focused on scope handling, uterine cavity navigation, and diagnostic hysteroscopy.
Day 2 - Operative Hysteroscopy: Intensive Hands-On Training
Practical training in operative hysteroscopic techniques, including polypectomy, myomectomy, septum resection, adhesiolysis, and TCRE. The training emphasizes resectoscope handling, appropriate energy application, and effective fluid management during operative procedures.
Day 3 - Live OT & Real-Patient Training
Participants receive hands-on clinical training on real patients along with live operating theatre exposure. Depending on case availability, patient suitability, and clinical requirements, participants may receive supervised hands-on experience in diagnostic and/or operative hysteroscopy.
Live cases are complemented by pre- and post-procedure discussions, operative decision-making, patient safety protocols, and management of potential complications.
Day 4 - Clinical Integration & Advanced Practical Exposure
The final day focuses on consolidating the learning gained throughout the program through continued practical exposure, clinical discussions, and supervised hysteroscopic training. Participants can further refine their understanding of diagnostic and operative procedures based on available cases, clinical suitability, and faculty guidance.
Training Methodology
Learn → Simulate → Participate Under Supervision → Observe → Assist → Refine
The program is designed to move beyond theoretical learning and provide progressive practical exposure. Participants begin with structured academic learning and simulation-based practice before progressing toward supervised clinical training and real-patient exposure, wherever appropriate.
This progressive approach allows participants to build familiarity with hysteroscopic equipment and techniques while developing greater understanding of operative steps, patient safety, fluid management, energy systems, and procedural decision-making.
Hands-On Clinical Experience
Practical training is an integral part of the program, with opportunities for participants to gain hands-on exposure to diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy in a clinical environment.
Participants may receive supervised exposure to procedures such as hysteroscopic polypectomy, myomectomy, septum resection, adhesiolysis, and other relevant hysteroscopic procedures depending on available clinical cases.
Live OT Exposure
Live operating theatre sessions provide participants with an opportunity to observe real clinical workflows and understand the practical application of hysteroscopic techniques in patient care.
Live cases are supported by pre-procedure planning, intraoperative learning, post-procedure discussions, operative decision-making, and patient safety considerations.
Who Can Benefit From This Program?
This intensive training program is designed for gynecologists seeking focused practical exposure in diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy and looking to strengthen their understanding of modern hysteroscopic techniques.
The program is particularly suited for professionals who want to combine academic learning with simulator-based practice, live OT exposure, and supervised hands-on clinical training.
Important Training Note
Hands-on exposure to real patients and live surgical cases is subject to case availability, clinical suitability, patient requirements, and faculty discretion. The nature and extent of practical participation may therefore vary according to the cases available during the training period.
